DO give your furry friend the limelight!
- Your pet should be in the foreground
- Just one animal in each photo, please
- Keep them sitting still for a distinct image
- Take the photo at eye level if possible and have them look directly at the camera
DON’T use a background that’s a similar color
- You want a contrast between the background shade and your pet’s fur
DON’T have humans interacting with the pet
- Resist the urge to be hands-on! There shouldn’t be any people or other animals near the star
DON’T have the subject lying down
- A sitting or standing posture, with neck/shoulders visible, gets the best results
DON’T have your pet interacting with objects
- No toys or blankets please – nothing to distract from the star’s unique personality!

Will I get to see a preview of my custom pet portrait?: Yes, after you upload your photo and apply the filter, you’ll see a preview of the portrait – with no purchase required. You can even see mock-ups of how the portrait will look on our wall decor products.
What sizes are the pet portraits available in?: Currently the pet portraits are available in a choice of two sizes: either 16” x 12” or 30” x 20”.
Can I make any changes to the pet portrait preview?: After you generate your portrait, you can still change the background color and text content/font. If you want to choose a different art style (or a new photo) you’ll need to generate your portrait again.
